WINKTREE User Guide
Follow this guide, and you’ll find growing plants with your WINKTREE surprisingly easy!
Please read through carefully before starting. 🌱
1. Assembly
1.1. Connecting the Clear Tube to the Pot
1. Fill the pot with soil only up to the rim to leave space for the clear tube to fit in securely.

2. Insert the clear tube at an angle first, then straighten it as you push it into place.
If you try to insert it straight down, it won’t go in properly.

1.2. Connecting the Pot to the Round Base
1. Make sure the clear window on the pot faces forward and the power switch on the base is also facing forward before connecting them. If connected backward, the plant light will not work.

2. When properly assembled, no gaps should be visible between the pot and the base.
- Firmly press down so the raised part of the pot clicks into the recessed part of the base.
- A correctly connected pot will not wobble.
- If there’s a gap, the connection is incomplete and the plant light will not function.

2. How to Use
WINKTREE is controlled using a single power button.
Please note that all settings will reset if power is disconnected.
2.1 Power & Safety
⚡ Electrical Specifications
- Input Voltage: 5V
- Input Current: 2A
Important:
- Always check your power source before plugging in.
- Using a voltage higher than 5V may damage the product.
2.2. 💡 Plant Light Brightness Control
Function: Adjust the brightness of the plant light.
- Short touch (approx. 0.1 sec) on the power button to adjust brightness.
- There are 6 brightness levels in total.
2.3. ⏱ Plant Light Time Loop Function
Function: Automatically turns the plant light on and off at the same time daily, based on a preset duration (3H, 9H, 12H).
- While the plant light is on, press and hold the power button for 1 second:
- 1 blink: 3-hour timer set
- 2 blinks: 9-hour timer set
- 3 blinks: 12-hour timer set
- 4 blinks: Time loop function deactivated
💡 Note:
If you short touch the power button while the time loop is active, the timer will be cancelled and the light will turn off.
2.4. 💧 Soil Moisture Sensor
Function: Detects soil moisture level via electrical conductivity.
If the soil is too dry, the plant light will blink as a water reminder.
- To turn on the sensor: Press and hold the power button for 4 seconds.
→ The plant light will gradually change from 0% to 100% brightness, indicating activation. - To turn off the sensor: Press and hold the power button for 8 seconds.
→ The plant light will gradually dim from 100% to 0%, indicating deactivation. - When water is needed:
The plant light will blink repeatedly. During this alert, brightness control and timer functions are temporarily disabled. - To stop the blinking:
After watering the plant, press and hold the power button for 4 seconds to manually activate the sensor again.
If the soil now contains moisture, the blinking will stop.
Previously set brightness and timer settings will be retained.
3. Plant Care
3.1. Planting
3.2. Watering
- First 3 months: Water 20ml once per week.
- After 3 months: Increase to 30ml once per week as the plant grows.
Caution
When watering, pour water only into the watering hole.
If water runs down the outside of the pot, it can seep into the connection area between the pot and the round base.
This area contains electrical component, and standing water may cause the gold connector to corrode, leading to malfunction.

3.3. Light Settings
- The plant light has 6 brightness levels.
- For healthy plant growth, we recommend setting it between Level 4–6.
3.4. Bonsai Wire
- When your plant outgrows the clear tube, remove the tube and insert the bonsai wire support.
- Make sure the wire is pushed firmly into the pot to stay stable.

3.5. Suitable Plants
A. Using the Clear Tube or Bonsai Wire
- Best for climbing or trailing plants that can grow upward along the support.
- Example: Wire vine, Ivy, Ficus fumila
B. Without the Clear Tube or Bonsai Wire
- The pot has a drainage hole in the center, so you can grow a wide variety of plants like a standard planter.
